Wildlife Rehabilitation Volunteer

About WA Wildlife WA Wildlife a non profit organisation that provides medical care and rehabilitation services for injured native wildlife in the south metropolitan region. Native Arc receives injured wildlife from a range of sources including the general public, veterinary clinics, local councils, rangers and other wildlife centres.

WA Wildlife believes education of the public in environmental sustainability will assist in the ongoing conservation of native birds and animals and supports the development of strategic partnerships and programs to enhance and expand critical wildlife habitat.

Position overview No prior experience is necessary - just a passion for conservation and animal welfare. With a minimum commitment of just one shift per week or fortnight, you can become a superhero for our furry friends! After completing 12 weeks of competency training, volunteers have the opportunity to take on a full shift or a shorter weekly shift (8:30am-11:30am or 5:00pm-9:00pm).

Tasks *Preparing food for a variety of animals *Cleaning cages, vivariums, aviaries or other housing facilities *Husbandry and enclosure maintenance *Washing dishes, laundry, perches and equipment *Sweeping, and mopping of Hospital facilities *Weighing animals *Assist feeding animals *Record keeping *Enrichment and behavioural training *Transporting animals to and from zoos or other wildlife organisations.
