As you may imagine the lock down was a lonely time, so we have created some new volunteer roles to help reduce social isolation and help the elderly who live independently to reconnect back into the community.
We are looking for individuals and groups who would be prepared to be part of a roster of entertainers for our Southaven and/or Brindabilla Day Centres. If you can entertain in any way, shape or form we want to hear from you! 25 seater bus drivers needed in Frankston/Langwarrin area. Need at least a Light Rigid licence. Peninsula Transport Assist is a not-for-profit organisation assisting disadvantaged people in our community to access services using volunteer drivers (in their own vehicles). Bus bookings are an important source of income for P.T.A. and keeps the organisation viable. (The service provided by the drivers using their own vehicles is not a source of income for P.T.A..)
Assistance & Care in the Frankston Emergency Department is a great role for people who have good communication skills and wish to help patients and their families feel calmer in a stressful environment. (Monday – Sunday mornings, afternoons and evenings)
Volunteers in this role will work with staff to enhance Chemotherapy Day Unit services by providing a gentle hand and / or foot massage to patients whilst undergoing treatment.

The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position.
