WAAC (formerly known as WA AIDS Council) is a health and human services nonprofit organisation. Established in 1985, WAAC’s original purpose was to optimise the health and wellbeing of all, through reducing the impact of stigma and discrimination, improving access to health services and information and reducing transmission of HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood-borne viruses (BBVs). Our organization has grown and today WAAC provides a broad range of health and support services, including counselling and support for people living with HIV, testing, treatment, vaccinations and gender affirming care for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, client and community health education and training, social support for LGBTQIA+ young people and harm reduction services for people who inject drugs.
