As a Peer Volunteer, your presence ensures that every young person who walks through the door feels seen, safe, and celebrated. Your duties will involve:

  • Facilitating Connection: Leading healthy, inclusive discussions and coordinating fun, engaging activities.
  • Creating Safety: Supporting staff to maintain a welcoming environment during Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening shifts.
  • Community Outreach Opportunities: Stepping beyond the centre to assist with exciting special events and art-based workshops.

The Impact

By committing just one evening a week, you become a living example of the different ways to show up as an LGBTIQA+ adult. Your mentorship provides more than just a "safe space", it provides belonging. You are helping to build the confidence and resilience of the next generation, ensuring that no young person has to navigate their identity alone.

Recruitment process

Successful applicants will be required to attend an in-person training and induction in early October. Shortly after, volunteering can start!
