On 1 July 2016, ARV and Anglicare Sydney joined together to form one organisation now called Anglicare. Anglicare's aged care services have steadily developed and grown since their inception and now provide a wide choice of accommodation and service options to thousands of residents and clients. This includes nursing homes, residential care and retirement living. Anglicare now owns and manages 22 residential care homes and 21 retirement living villages as well as day centres and other programs. Anglicare is also proactive in researching the needs of older people in order to provide facilities and services to meet their needs and expectations. Whether it is home-based services or larger units with modern design features, security, and a range of activities, Anglicare actively encourages positive ageing, giving older people and their families the flexibility to make the lifestyle choice that is right for them. Volunteers play a fundamental role in enhancing a resident’s quality of life and are a vital link in the care chain at Anglicare, working hand in hand with the staff to provide quality care. The benefits of Volunteer work are enormous and include pride in the knowledge you are assisting people in need of support and cultivates a sense of achievement. Volunteering enables everyone to use their experience and talents to improve the quality of life of others, while developing new skills and making new friends and acquaintances. Anglicare is a well established organisation which provides many different volunteering opportunities. We also work with new volunteers to utilise their individual skills and talents while creating new opportunities. Vision : Serving people in need, enriching lives, sharing the love of Jesus.
