New Drivers needed to support our growing Social Supermarket donation and goods pick ups

Baptist Care SA WestCare Centre and Inner-City Services offer a low-cost alternative for food and essential items for people experiencing financial hardship and other concession card holders. Customers who utilize the shop include those experiencing social isolation, homelessness, mental and physical health issues, intellectual or sensory disability, or come from a refugee or culturally diverse background.
Purpose
The Volunteer Driver will provide collection services to enable the community and businesses who support through fundraising and donations to support our homeless clients of Baptist Care SA programs and other customers who access our Servies and programs.
Qualifications
- Full (non-Provisional) relevant South Australian Driver's License.
Experience Experience in driving a vehicle. Experience in customer relations, communications and community connections Empathy for and experience working with people who have experienced hardship, loss, disadvantage and disconnection from the community.
Competencies
Ability to:
- Arrive punctually and be reliable
- Behave in a respectful and courteous manner at all times
- Learn and follow instructions
- Demonstrate empathy with people who have experienced hardship, loss or disconnection from the community
Other requirements
- A valid DHS working with children check (less than 5 years old).
- A valid National Police Check (less than 12 months old).
- A valid Child Safe Environments Training certificate (less than 3 years old). (Please note that Baptist Care will assist approved applicants to obtain these checks/certificates free of charge).
