Studying event management or looking to build your events and admin experience? This role gives you hands-on exposure to how a not-for-profit plans, coordinates and delivers large-scale community fundraising events - from participant engagement and stakeholder communication through to the behind-the-scenes data and logistics that keep an event running smoothly. It's a great way to build real-world skills for your resume while supporting a cause that matters.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Community Fundraising team as it prepares for community-led events
  • Answering phone enquiries and managing our team inbox
  • Making "welcome calls" to newly registered Relay For Life participants — thanking them, answering questions, and offering support
  • Providing support for our team captains and community fundraisers
  • Drawing from our customer management system, Salesforce, into Excel
  • General ad hoc office support
  • Attending event activities

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine desire to support people affected by cancer and the community members who fundraise on our behalf
  • Good attention to detail, particularly with data entry and record-keeping
  • A confident, friendly phone manner
  • Comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience with a client management system such as Salesforce is ideal but not essential (full training and support provided)
  • Someone who is keen to be part of a fun, supportive and friendly workplace
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a wonderful team

Good to know: This role sits within our Community Fundraising space, supporting events such as Relay For Life and Do It For Cancer throughout the year
