There are multiple ways that you can assist to protect these birds. Fleurieu Hoodie Helpers are needed, to monitor a given pair of birds on a particular beach and report sightings of bird behaviour. Site Protectors are needed to erect protective signage and fencing around vulnerable nest and chick sites, and Plover Guardians are also needed to engage with beach users in an educational capacity. General Volunteers are also required to assist with educational events, school visits and field days to weed sites in non nesting areas.
