The Nixon Skinner Conservation Park comprises of 8 hectares of native vegetation, and is situated towards the southern end of the Myponga Reservoir. The park is an island of native vegetation in a picturesque setting, framed by the Myponga Reservoir and pine plantations. Working bees are held on the first Friday of each month commencing at 9.00 am.

Hooded Plovers are small coastal shorebirds. Listed as vulnerable nationally, there are less than 800 of these birds in South Australia, with only 22 breeding pairs found on the Fleurieu Peninsula. There are multiple ways that you can assist to protect these birds. Fleurieu Hoodie Helpers are needed to monitor a given pair of birds on a particular beach and report sightings of bird behaviour.

The District Council of Yankalilla provide reliable, efficient transport for the frail older people in our community who are without the support of family or friends able to transport them to medical appointments. Volunteer drivers are required during normal business hours although occasional early morning and weekend bookings do occur.

The South Australian State Emergency Service (SASES), is a volunteer-based organisation that responds to a wide range of emergencies and rescues across the state. Primarily responsible for responding to extreme weather and flooding events, the SASES also responds to road crash, marine, swiftwater, vertical and confined space rescues. We are currently looking for volunteers in both Operational and Non Operational roles.
