We need YOU today at Paddington Vinnies!!

As a retail volunteer, you play a very important role in our stores. Did you know that every time our customers make a purchase at one of our Vinnies Stores, the proceeds go directly to St Vincent de Paul Society Qld to fund the people and services that allow us to provide ongoing support to people impacted by poverty and homelessness? That is why our Vinnies stores merchandise and sell good quality pre-loved donated clothing, furniture, and household goods. Together we are sharing hope and giving people the hand up they need for a brighter future. Now that’s something to feel good about!

Our retail volunteers perform a variety of tasks including:

• Providing customer with an excellent shopping experience
• Sorting and pricing donations
• Assisting with product displays
• Processing sales through the point-of-sale cash register
• Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices.

The volunteers we are seeking for this role will ideally:  

• Demonstrate a friendly, positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and to be part of our Paddington Volunteer Team.
• Demonstrate genuine respect for all people regardless of their situation.
• Be respectful to others and flexible in their attitude to work and to work as part of a Team; and
• Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.   Volunteers do not require previous experience as valuable on-the-job training is provided.

Please note, all volunteers must complete an online, National Police Check before commencing with Vinnies. (This Police Check is FREE, and all persons are encouraged to apply as we assess on a case-by-case basis).
