Our Cadet Firefighter program gives 12 to 16 year olds opportunities to build valuable life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Attending regular training sessions held fortnightly on Wednesday evenings from 5:45pm to 8:00pm
  • Taking part in practical firefighting and emergency services training activities
  • Learning basic bushfire awareness, fireground safety, and brigade operations
  • Developing teamwork, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Participating in drills, exercises, and community engagement activities
  • Building confidence through challenges that encourage initiative and resilience

  • Aged 12 to 16 years (up to 18 years in some circumstances)
