Whittlesea Food Collective Gardener Volunteer Gardener

Whittlesea Food Collective demonstration garden was developed to produce food to contribute to the Emergency Relief program and to engage the local community, schools and other groups in gardening activities. This role has been established to assist with establishing and maintaining the Food Collective Demonstration Garden.

Volunteer Responsibilities: • Plant new vegetation as per garden plan/design • Weeding outdoor garden spaces using manual weeding techniques and some machine equipment such as whipper snipper • Watering and maintaining the irrigation system • Harvest produce • Seasonal gardening related activities including pruning and seed harvesting • Contribute to community gardening projects at with community groups (optional)
