Calvary Flora McDonald is seeking volunteers who have a passion for improving the lives of elderly people living in residential aged care, and can experience social isolation. This Chef Assistant role is an important part of our business where the quality of food, presentation and delivery is very important to residents in our care. This is a great opportunity to gain new skills, use your existing skills and gain experience for your resume. You can choose to volunteer one or more shifts a week, the times can be negotiated to best suit you. Our Head Chef, as a good leader will certainly educate you further if hospitality kitchen work is of specific interest. If you enjoy chatting and generally engaging socially with people we would like to chat with you. All volunteers require a police clearance (paid by employer) for the purposes of Aged Care, which will be facilitated by Calvary, and evidence of vaccination against influenza and covid. If you have 2 – 7 hours to offer on any day of the week we would love to hear from you. In return we can offer a rewarding opportunity to volunteer in a caring and happy environment.
