With residential aged care services dating back to the mid 1900s, Anglicare is one of Queensland’s most experienced aged care providers. Our range of services is ever-evolving, and is designed to support our residents to live happier and healthier lives.

The Role

Our team, based in Taigum, offer a number of services including group outings and activities for our residents. To maintain these essential services, we require the support of volunteers, and are currently looking for Volunteer Drivers to support our staff with the transporting of residents to and from social outings or appointments. You will be driving a 17 seat minibus, which requires a specific type of licence.

Skills & Qualities

  • A Light Rigid (LR) Qld Drivers Licence, with a clean driving history
  • A genuine interest in people and making a difference in their lives
  • A friendly personality and good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop rapport and interact positively with clients
  • Understand and respect confidentiality and privacy of clients and Anglicare
  • Maintain professional boundaries and work within the policies and procedures of Anglicare
  • Work with limited supervision and be able to take direction when required
  • Reliable, flexible and motivated to make a difference
  • Respect, care and courtesy towards others

Expectations

  • Volunteer Training – this mandatory training must be completed prior to starting first volunteer shift (online and face to face training modules).
  • Availability – at least one shift (4 hours) per week between 8am and 3pm on Monday - Friday.
  • Consistency and reliability – willing to commit to an ongoing basis.
  • Confidentiality & Professional Boundaries– this is critical to us and you will need to sign a Statement of Agreement.
  • Two (2) referees – who are not relatives and can verify your character and interaction in the community (ie. Work Colleague, Church Elder, Community Leader, Doctor or other Professional).
