Female Walking Buddy with Vision Loss Lady in Drysdale

Blind Sports Victoria Inc.

Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria in conjunction with JoCare is currently seeking a female volunteer to accompany a vision impaired older lady on weekly or fortnightly walks/morning tea in her local area of Drysdale for 1-2hours. Help this lady keep mobile and feel socially connected!

You will be part of the walking program, which aims to increase fitness, well-being and community involvement for adults who are blind or vision impaired.

As a friendly, volunteer walking buddy you need to be more than 18 years of age, with a positive attitude towards people with disabilities.

Recruitment involves an interview, police and referee checks and completion of short training on how to best assist a person who has vision loss whilst out walking.

Try something new and make a positive difference to the quality of life of somebody in your local community. Join our friendly team of volunteers.

Blind Sports & Recreation Vic and JoCare connects volunteers with older members of our community who are experiencing loneliness and isolation.
