HammondCare Australia

Logo for HammondCare Australia

We are seeking a Sewing Volunteer who can assist with minor clothing repairs of resident’s clothing, including replacing buttons, adjusting hems and minor mending and clothing modifications.

The Sewing Volunteer will carry out the tasks within one of the cottages onsite to add to the home-like environment and enable residents to engage with familiar household tasks. The volunteer is encouraged to invite residents to participate and/or be a part of the activity in whichever way they chose, to foster a sense of dignity and personal satisfaction.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

HammondCare

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare.
