Passionate and Energetic Management Committee Member

The Grief Centre of WA Inc

The Grief Centre of WA is the key resource and support Centre for Grief and Loss in Western Australia. Our vision is a community where grief and loss are responded to with deep care and compassion. We are on a mission and about to experience a rapid period of growth. We need a team of dedicated leaders who can help us transform our small community service into a medium sized well-funded and sustainable organisation.

The stage is set and we are now looking for our cast of pragmatic, energetic, visionary, wise and grounded business and community-hearted leaders. Leaders who are willing to get their hands dirty, want connection and love a good outcome.

This is a service role that is loaded with feel good moments and unexpected joy.

Due to the resignation of a valued committee member who has gone on to bigger things, we now have a vacancy on our committee that we are looking to fill with the right person.

The key duties include:

  • Attending management committee meetings monthly and contributing wise counsel.
  • Responding to emails between meetings.
  • Participating in Centre events.
  • Using your networks and connections to help us to grow a sustainable organisation well into the future.
  • Utilising your understanding of best business practices and governance to strategically contribute to discussions and decision-making.
  • Opportunities to engage in or lead one of our subcommittee working groups.

You will need a lived experience of grief and loss, as this is a peer led organisation with 100% lived experience participation from staff and management committee members.

This is an invitation to join a community, not just a committee, so this opportunity will not suit someone who has limited capacity or is intensely introverted.
