The Role

Ready to make a real difference? As a volunteer with the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), you’ll connect with older people who may be feeling isolated and bring some much-needed joy into their lives. You’ll have the chance to:

  • Enjoy meaningful conversations and share interests
  • Watch a favourite show or work on a hobby together
  • Play games, take walks, or even help write a letter
  • Simply be a friend who visits regularly, making their day brighter and fostering a sense of community

Skills & Qualities

  • Hobbies or interests to share
  • Great social skills and a knack for building relationships
  • Compassionate, patient, and a respectful listener
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining professional boundaries

Expectations

Mandatory:

  • Complete training (online and in-person)
  • National Police Check (we’ll take care of it)

Essential:

  • Availability for at least one hour per fortnight (we’re flexible!)
  • Commitment to regular visits
  • Respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Two referees
