Food Collective Volunteer Driver

The Food Collective Grocery is a social enterprise that aims to increase access to healthy, culturally appropriate and locally grown produce for children, young people and people experiencing financial hardship.

The Volunteer Driver role assists the grocery service operations by delivering food boxes to people experiencing financial hardship in the outer north, as well as organisations delivering services to children and young people. This position is supervised by the Food Collective Coordinator.

Volunteer Responsabilities:- • Safely load and unload food boxes and other supplies and deliver to residential and business addresses in the north • Ensure orders are delivered according to the delivery schedule • Engage with clients and customers in a friendly manner • Ensure appropriate levels of client service and safety procedures are followed at all times • Assist with organising the storage of food in the Food Collective warehouse • Notify the Food Collective Coordinator of any challenges or incidents that occur in the course of volunteering for WCC (involving truck, clients, suppliers, etc.) • Assist with ad-hoc warehouse related tasks if required; including packing shelves, packing food boxes, speaking with clients and general tidiness of the warehouse
