Volunteer Kitchen Assistance - Fridays

Caring Cuisine plays a vital role enabling older Australians to enjoy living independently in the familiar surroundings and comfort of their own home.
As a not-for-profit charity, in order to support our clients, we rely on a large team of volunteers to prepare meals for our clients. These meals are then delivered to clients by volunteer drivers Monday - Friday.
Our Mitchelton & St Lucia kitchens are open and staffed Monday - Friday, 6am - 10am and package food for over 200 clients every day.
As a Volunteer Kitchen Assistant, you will attend our Mitchelton service at 6am to help with a variety of kitchen work eg. making sandwiches, cutting up fruit to make fruit salads, washing up, packaging up and refrigerating meals for our clients. Kitchen volunteer shifts are between 6am - 10am, with a breakfast break at 8.am. We are currently seeking one volunteer to help our existing kitchen team weekly on Friday mornings.
On-the shift training is provided by our experienced and friendly volunteers and Kitchen Coordinator.
To succeed in this rewarding role all you need is a friendly disposition and willingness to give it a go! The physical requirements of role include the ability to work standing up for a 2 hour period, and the ability to lift and move around ice packs and food bags.
