Art Gallery Attendants: Courthouse and Mulgrave Galleries
Advertised by FNQ Volunteers Inc.Cairns Art Gallery Precinct is located in the heart of the city and features three expertly renovated heritage buildings with a mix of local, Australian and Indigenous art. Volunteers will greet and engage with Gallery visitors across the Precinct to ensure a pleasant visit and security of artworks on display while maintaining a warm rapport with visitors. Volunteers also provide accurate information about Gallery exhibitions, Programs and Shop product to visitors.
We roster volunteers across 3 galleries - Courthouse, Mulgrave and Cairns Art Galleries.
VOLUNTEER TASKS:
Volunteers at the Gallery may be asked to undertake a range of tasks, including: Front of House – Customer service • Greet visitors to the Gallery in a friendly and professional manner and brief visitors on gallery guidelines in a way that is engaging and positive. • Record visitor statistics accurately. • Invigilate the Gallery, ensuring security of the artworks while maintaining a warm rapport with visitors. • Ensure food and drink is not taken through the Gallery Spaces. • Provide accurate information about Gallery exhibitions, Programs and Shop product to visitors. • Provide appropriate assistance to visitors with specific needs and access requirements. • Welcome and brief groups on Gallery guidelines to facilitate a smooth and enjoyable visit. • Engaging the Duty Officer in the event of guest complaints.
