Volunteer Board Members – Make a Meaningful Community Impact
The Maltese Aged Care Association of South Australia (MACASA) is a well-established not-for-profit organisation based in Cheltenham. Since 1994, MACASA has provided services that support a diverse range of older people and people with disabilities to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
MACASA is currently seeking several Volunteer Board Members to join its Board during an exciting period of growth and development. We value diversity of thought, experience and background, and are looking to strengthen our Board’s collective skill base to help guide the organisation’s future direction and strategic goals.
About the Role
Volunteer Board Members play a vital governance role and meet approximately monthly or every six weeks. Responsibilities include:

Contributing to the development and oversight of organisational strategy

Ensuring strong governance, accountability and compliance

Monitoring organisational policies and performance
-
Supporting effective and ethical decision-making
-
Participating in Board committees, as required
Board Members are expected to attend meetings regularly and actively contribute to discussions and decision-making in the best interests of MACASA and the community it serves.
Skills & Experience
We welcome applicants who have:
A genuine interest in community service, aged care or supporting older people
The ability to work collaboratively and contribute respectfully to group decision-making
Skills or experience in one or more of the following areas:

Financial management, accounting or bookkeeping (particularly suitable for a Treasurer role)

Strategic planning and implementation

Marketing, communications or sponsorship

Fundraising and community engagement
Previous experience on a board or within a not-for-profit organisation (highly desirable but not essential)
Applicants must reside in South Australia.
