Career Support Volunteers

Dress for Success WA (DFSWA) is looking for Career Support Volunteers who are located in Geraldton, to assist in establishing a Satellite service. DFSWA is committed to assisting women who have experienced barriers to employment in the past, and we recognise that living in the regions can be a compounding factor, with limited access to services. We are now proud to initiate our permanent satellite service which will establish a permanent and regular service in Geraldton. Our Career Support Volunteers will join us once every two months, starting in March.

We would love local volunteers who bring local knowledge and connection to become Career Support Volunteers.

As a Dress for Success Career Support Volunteer, you will provide advice and guidance on resumes, cover letters, interview preparation or next steps. These sessions are 60 minutes one-on-one.

This is an opportunity to give back to your region, empowering women who need a confidence boost for their employment journey and a great way to connect with like minded women in your community.

Requirements:

Dress for Success WA is looking for experienced volunteers to walk alongside the women we serve. This includes:-

• Evaluating skills, interests, and goals to identify potential career paths.
• Assisting with career planning.
• Guidance and providing advice on educational and vocational options, job application processes, interview skills, and professional development.
• Application support: Assist with creating and refining resumes, cover letters, and job applications for both employment and further study.
