The Role
Many older people feel lonely or isolated. The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) connects them with volunteers who can brighten their lives through simple, meaningful visits. You might:
- Share stories and conversation
- Watch TV or listen to music
- Play a game, read, or enjoy a hobby
- Take a walk or help write a letter
Just an hour a fortnight can make a lasting difference.
What We’re Looking For
- Friendly, patient and respectful people
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to share a hobby or interest
- Reliable and able to commit regularly
Requirements
- Complete short training (online and face-to-face)
- National Police Check (provided at no cost)
- Commitment of either 30 mins per week/ one hour per fortnight
