Could you be a friend and advocate for Jen?

Citizen Advocacy connects people with disability to voluntary members of the local community. We are seeking someone to be a friend and advocate for Jen, a gentle woman who lives independently and loves crafts and animals. Jen has memory issues and an intellectual disability, and currently has very little independent support in her life. As Jen’s advocate, you will build a trusted friendship, stand beside her to support her voice, inspire confidence, and celebrate her strengths. Jen would benefit from a consistent, supportive presence she can rely on. You may also help her navigate services or decision-making when her memory makes things challenging, ensuring she feels confident and empowered. No formal qualifications are required—what matters most is a genuine interest in building a meaningful friendship. Experience supporting someone with memory challenges is helpful but not essential. Orientation, training, and ongoing support will be provided to help you feel confident in the role. If you are interested and want more information please call (03) 63 312177
