Youth Development Volunteer – Defence Approved Helper (DAH)

106 Army Cadet Unit (Caloundra) is a community-based youth development organisation operating as part of the Australian Army Cadets program.

We are seeking community-minded adults to volunteer as Defence Approved Helpers (DAH), supporting young people aged 13–17 through a structured program focused on leadership, teamwork, resilience, confidence, and community service.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting trained Army Cadet Staff during weekly parade nights
  • Assisting with outdoor, leadership, and team-based activities
  • Supervising and mentoring cadets under direction -Supporting community and commemorative events -Assisting with general activity preparation and pack-up

Skills and experience:

  • An interest in youth development and mentoring
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and a positive attitude
  • No military experience required

Screening and onboarding:
