Toowoomba Homeless Outreach is seeking a committed and organised Volunteer Co-ordinator to support our growing team serving people experiencing homelessness.

⚠️ This is a voluntary (unpaid) position.

About Us

Toowoomba Homeless Outreach provides daily breakfast, practical support, and connection for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Beyond meeting immediate needs, we aim to walk alongside individuals to help bring stability, dignity, and hope.

About the Role

This role is central to the smooth running of our daily services. You will coordinate volunteers, support team development, and help maintain a positive and supportive environment.

Key Duties Coordinate and manage volunteer rosters Communicate regularly with volunteers Support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement Assist in organising and delivering volunteer training Build strong, respectful relationships across the team Help ensure services are delivered safely and consistently Skills & Experience Strong organisational skills Experience with rostering or scheduling Excellent communication and relationship skills Training or leadership experience (preferred) A compassionate and respectful approach to people Impact of the Role

This role plays a vital part in ensuring our services run smoothly each day. By supporting and coordinating volunteers, you will directly contribute to creating a welcoming, reliable environment for people doing it tough in our community.

Full onboarding and ongoing support will be provided, including:

Introduction to THO and our services Training in rostering and communication processes Guidance in working respectfully with people experiencing homelessness Shadowing experienced team members Support with obtaining a Blue Card (Working with Children Check) Time Commitment

Approximately 8–12 hours per week, with flexible arrangements available. Includes a mix of flexible administration and some optional on-site involvement at morning services.
