Affordable community Pantry Volunteers needed in Parramatta
Our Affordable Community Pantries provide people with access to affordable groceries and everyday essentials in a welcoming and respectful environment.
We’re looking for friendly, reliable and compassionate volunteers to join our Pantry team and help create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
🛒 What will you be doing?
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll work alongside our Pantry Supervisor and other volunteers to keep the pantry running smoothly.
You may be:
- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, respectful service
- Maintaining the customer register and assisting with purchases
- Operating the POS system, cash register and EFTPOS
- Receiving, restocking and rotating pantry stock
- Keeping shelves organised, stocked and visually appealing
- Helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming pantry
- Supporting general day-to-day pantry operations
❤️You don’t need previous community services experience.
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, non-judgemental and comfortable connecting with people from all walks of life.
Good communication and customer service skills are valuable, but just as important is your ability to listen, show empathy and treat every person with respect.
