Logo for Candlebark Community Nursery Incorporated

Our volunteer-run community nursery has ongoing plans to upgrade site infrastructure, including the construction of seedling houses, propagation sheds and other facilities, along with service upgrades across the nursery. To help guide these improvements, we are seeking volunteers with surveying skills and experience who may also be able to assist with converting field measurements and plans into CAD drawings.

Key tasks may include:

  • Measuring and mapping existing site features and infrastructure

  • Assisting with site layouts and planning for future works

  • Preparing or updating plans and drawings using CAD software

  • Providing advice on levels, drainage, access or service locations

  • Working alongside our committee and project volunteers to support long-term planning

We would love to hear from people with experience in surveying, drafting, engineering, construction planning, landscape design or related fields. Experience with CAD software and interpreting site plans would be highly valued, although retired professionals, students, or those willing to contribute in an advisory capacity are also encouraged to get in touch.

Our community nursery has been operating for more than 30 years, growing indigenous plants and supporting local biodiversity, habitat restoration and community education. The nursery is entirely volunteer-run and plays an important role in supplying plants for revegetation projects across the region.

Volunteering with us offers the chance to contribute practical skills to meaningful community projects, connect with a friendly and passionate volunteer team, and help shape the future of a well-established environmental organisation. Your contribution will directly support the nursery’s ability to grow, improve facilities for volunteers and visitors, and continue supplying indigenous plants for years to come.
