Volunteer Cafe Assistant & Barista - school holidays

Do you have an energetic nature, work well within a small team and have barista and hospitality experience? The Abbey Museum is looking for volunteers to join the Abbey Cafe these school holidays!

Be guided by our amazing Cafe Coordinator, Jude, and make hot/ cold drinks, serve food (no cooking required), greet customers with a smile and process orders. The Abbey Cafe operates Monday - Saturday,10.00am - 2.00pm. Flexible shifts available.   Responsibilities:

• Greet customers with a smile
• Take orders, process payments, open and close register (training on POS system will be provided).
• Make and serve beverages, tailored to the customer’s preferences
• Basic food preparation
• Regular cleaning of work areas, seating areas and equipment/ tools

• Point of Sale experience
• The ability to work well with others
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to accurately memorise orders
• The ability to accept constructive feedback and work well under pressure
• High-level of good hygiene practice.
