We're looking for fun, enthusiastic Event Hosts to help make our

Canteen City 2 Surf Thank You Event unforgettable!

What's involved?

• Welcoming runners and their guests as they arrive from the finish line
• Hyping up the crowd
• Help Canteen staff run activities, games, and photo booth
• Help serve food and drinks
• Setup the goody bag station
• Interactive with our staff and fundraisers
• Helping create a positive, celebratory atmosphere

Ideal volunteer will be

• Confident speaking with fundraisers, staff, members of the community
• Friendly, outgoing, and energetic

About Canteen

Canteen supports young people aged 12–25 when cancer crashes into their lives. Through counselling, peer support and life-changing programs, Canteen's mission is to ensure no young person faces cancer alone.

City2Surf Sydney is one of Canteen's major fundraising events, bringing together supporters from across the community to raise vital funds and awareness for young people impacted by cancer.

What Canteen will provide

• Canteen T’shirt (returned after)
• Canteen Bandanna (our gift to you)
• Snacks and refreshments
• Volunteer identification lanyard
• Access to Canteen City2Surf group chat for event communications
• A supportive, inclusive and respectful volunteer team

What you will need to bring

• Comfortable footwear (expect long periods of standing)
• Water Bottle (refill stations located around the course)
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses & sunscreen)
• Small backpack to keep your belongings with you
• Fully charged mobile phone (for event communications and emergencies)

Please note:

This role is located within the City2Surf Finish Line Activation Zone course. Volunteers will be surrounded by large numbers of people throughout the day and exposed to a high-energy environment with cheering, music and other loud event noises.

To enjoy this role, you should be comfortable standing in close proximity to others and being immersed in a busy, noisy atmosphere for extended periods.
