Volunteer your valuable time and passion for doing good to make an incredible impact in your community! We’re looking for fun, friendly and reliable volunteers to join us at the MND Queensland merchandise stall and help raise funds by selling MND Queensland merchandise to attendees at Motor Neurone Disease Queensland’s iconic Walk to Defeat MND Toowoomba on Sunday, 11 October at Queens Park, Toowoomba. 🚶♂️💙
This annual event brings together the community to honour, remember, and support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease. As a valued MND volunteer you will share your creativity in a fun and meaningful environment and meet incredible people who share a passion for making a difference.
About the role As Volunteer Merchandise Stall Assistant you will support MND Queensland by engaging with members of the public, selling MND Queensland merchandise, and representing the organisation in a positive and professional manner at our Walk to Defeat MND merchandise stall.
This is a great opportunity to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease while helping raise awareness and vital funds in the community.
When: Sunday, 11th October What Time: 7.30am to 12.30pm Where: Queens Park, Lindsay Street, Toowoomba
IMPORTANT EXTRA: You will need to come prepared for a day in the sun – wear comfortable, closed toed shoes, slip, slop, slap and bring a hat!
You will be:
- Selling MND QLD merchandise and raffle tickets using cash and EFTPOS transactions
- Greeting and engaging with members of the public
- Representing MND QLD in a friendly, respectful, and professional way
- Assisting with set-up and pack-down of the merchandise stall (as required)
- Assisting with general event setup before the event and pack down afterwards
- Contributing to an event that helps MND Queensland raise vital funding for people living with MND
About you
- Friendly, reliable and comfortable interacting with the public
- Comfortable handling money including Square and Eftpos Machines (support and instructions provided)
- Happy to work in a busy, outdoor, family-friendly environment
- Able to stand for periods of time and assist with light duties
- Comfortable taking direction and working collaboratively
- Reliable, punctual and able to complete a one-day volunteering commitment
- Passionate about helping others and making a positive impact
By volunteering your time and positive vibes, you’ll be helping MND Queensland raise vital funds and awareness to support people living with MND and their families.
Please note: Our volunteer personal accident insurance requires volunteers to be at least 12 years old. Children aged 14 and under must attend with a parent. Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers aged over 75 may still participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
