Love meeting people and helping events run smoothly? Join us as a Volunteer Registration able Assistant at Walk to Defeat MND Toowoomba on Sunday, 11 October at Queens Park, Toowoomba.
You’ll be one of the first faces walkers see on the day - welcoming participants, checking people in, helping with on-the-day registrations, and handing out walk T-shirts. Your support will help ensure everyone has a smooth, positive start to the walk. 🚶♂️💙
This annual event brings together the community to honour, remember, and support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease. As a valued MND volunteer you will share your creativity in a fun and meaningful environment and meet incredible people who share a passion for making a difference.
About the role As a Volunteer Registration Table Assistant, you will support MND Queensland by welcoming participants and assisting with event check-in and registrations at the Walk to Defeat MND. Volunteers will be stationed across pre-registration check-in, on-the-day registration, and walk T-shirt distribution, helping ensure a smooth and positive experience for all participants.
This is a great opportunity to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease while helping raise awareness and vital funds in the community.
When: Sunday, 11th October What Time: 7.30am to 12.30pm Where: Queens Park, Lindsay Street, Toowoomba
IMPORTANT EXTRA: You will need to come prepared for a day in the sun – wear comfortable, closed toed shoes, slip, slop, slap and bring a hat!
You will be:
- Welcoming participants and providing a friendly first point of contact
- Checking in participants who registered online (pre-registration)
- Assisting with on-the-day registrations for walk participants
- Using Excel spreadsheets to manage registrations
- Distributing walk T-shirts to registered participants
- Assisting with handling payments for on-the-day registrations using cash and EFTPOS
- Assisting with general event setup before the event and pack down afterwards
- Contributing to an event that helps MND Queensland raise vital funding for people living with MND
About you:
- Friendly, reliable and comfortable interacting with the public
- Confident in a basic level of Excel
- Comfortable handling money including Square and Eftpos Machines (support and instructions provided)
- Happy to work in a busy, outdoor, family-friendly environment
- Comfortable taking direction and working collaboratively
- Reliable, punctual and able to complete a one-day volunteering commitment
- Passionate about helping others and making a positive impact
By volunteering your time and positive vibes, you’ll be helping MND Queensland raise vital funds and awareness to support people living with MND and their families.
Please note: Our volunteer personal accident insurance requires volunteers to be at least 12 years old. Children aged 14 and under must attend with a parent. Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers aged over 75 may still participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
