Walk Leader (Volunteer)

About the Role We're looking for passionate, community-minded people to become Walk Leaders for Walk for a Bloke 2027. This isn't just about organising a walk. It's about bringing people together.
You'll become the local face of Walk for a Bloke in your community, helping create an event where mates reconnect, families show up, conversations happen naturally and people leave feeling more connected than when they arrived.
You don't need experience in event management.
You don't need experience in mental health.
You simply need to care about your community and be willing to help create something meaningful.
What You'll Do As a Walk Leader you'll work alongside our national team to: • Plan and promote your local Walk for a Bloke. • Build relationships with local businesses, sporting clubs, schools and community organisations. • Help drive registrations throughout your community. • Recruit and support a small volunteer crew. • Work with local venues and councils, with guidance from our team. • Welcome participants and help facilitate the event on Walk Day. • Share the story and purpose behind Walk for a Bloke.
What We're Looking For We're not looking for perfect. We're looking for people who genuinely care. You might be someone who: • Loves bringing people together. • Is organised and dependable. • Enjoys building relationships. • Can communicate confidently and authentically. • Wants to make a positive difference in their community. • Believes in the power of connection and conversation. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Receive You'll never be expected to do this on your own. Our team will support you throughout the year with: • National marketing and promotion. • Participant registrations. • Council permits and operational support. • Planning meetings and ongoing coaching. • Walk Leader onboarding and training. • National Police Check (paid). • Walk Leader shirt and merchandise. • Branded marketing assets. • Sponsorship support. • Access to our nationwide Walk Leader community. • A dedicated team that's only ever a phone call away.
Why Become a Walk Leader? Because every community deserves a place where people feel connected. Because too many families have experienced the impact of poor mental health. Because bringing people together really does make a difference.
As a Walk Leader you'll help create an event your community can be proud of while developing leadership skills, building local connections and becoming part of a passionate movement that's growing across Australia.
The Recruitment Process Our application process is simple: Submit an Expression of Interest - outline the following: What makes you want to lead Walk for a Bloke in your location? Tell us about your network. Local community groups, sporting clubs, workplaces, schools, businesses you're connected to.
If shortlisted, you'll have a relaxed conversation with our team. Successful applicants will complete a National Police Check (paid by Spoke to a Bloke) before onboarding.
Apply Now If you're passionate about your community and would love to help bring people together for a meaningful cause, we'd love to hear from you.
We know putting yourself forward can feel a little daunting, but truly, we're simply looking for good humans who care about their community and want to help create spaces where people can connect and get talking.
Let's get men talking.
