If you speak Italian, you could make a huge difference in Dandenong North!

Could you spare an hour a week or fortnight to share a conversation in Italian and make a new friend?

We're looking for a friendly Italian-speaking volunteer to visit a lovely older Italian lady in Dandenong North through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

She came to Australia from Italy in the 1960s and has a wonderful collection of memories, stories and family traditions that she would love to share.

Most importantly, she misses speaking Italian.

She would love someone who can sit with her, have a coffee and simply enjoy a good old-fashioned conversation in the language she grew up speaking.

She has a loving family around her, but a volunteer visitor offers something different — a friendship that is hers, built around shared conversation, culture and companionship.

Could this be you?

We're looking for someone who:

• 🇮🇹 Speaks conversational Italian
• 💬 Enjoys a good chat and listening to people's stories
• ❤️ Is warm, patient and friendly
• 🤝 Is reliable and enjoys building genuine connections
• ⏰ Can visit for around an hour, weekly or at least fortnightly

You don't need to have volunteering or aged care experience. We provide training, arrange your police check and provide ongoing support.

Perhaps you speak Italian at home. Maybe your parents or grandparents came from Italy. Or perhaps you simply love the language and culture.

You don't need to be able to provide care. You just need to be willing to sit down, have a conversation and share some time with someone.
