The New School of Arts Neighbourhood House Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteer Team Leader for our Community Pantry program. As a Volunteer Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pantry, ensuring that community members have access to nutritious food in a welcoming and organized environment. Responsibilities:

Team Coordination:

  • Coordinate and lead a team of pantry volunteers during scheduled shifts.
  • Assign tasks based on volunteers' skills and availability.
  • Provide guidance, support, and motivation to maintain a positive and collaborative team environment.

Pantry Operations:

  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of pantry shelves, ensuring that items are neatly arranged and well-stocked.
  • Assist in receiving, sorting, and stocking food orders and donations in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the Community Hub Coordinator regarding restocking needs.

Community Engagement:

  • Interact with community members in a friendly and respectful manner, offering assistance and support as needed.
  • Ensure community members feel welcome and comfortable while accessing the pantry's services.

Training and Development:

  • Conduct training sessions for new volunteers, providing guidance on pantry procedures, customer service, and food safety.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and skill development among the volunteer team.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Communicate regularly with the Community Hub Coordinator to provide updates on pantry activities, challenges, and successes.
  • Maintain accurate records of pantry operations, including volunteer hours, inventory levels, and community member interactions.
