Make a Meaningful Difference
Are you a warm, friendly person who enjoys connecting with others? We are looking for volunteers to bring friendship and joy to older adults living in in residential aged care.

We currently have a lovely gentleman living in Caboolture who would enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer visitor for relaxed visits, conversation, and companionship.

He enjoys playing the ukulele and sharing stories about family, New Zealand, and life experiences. A volunteer who has travelled to or lived in New Zealand would be a wonderful connection. He would appreciate someone who enjoys good conversation and shared interests.

This opportunity is for a male volunteer visitor only. The volunteer must speak English, and knowledge of Māori language would be a bonus.

Many older persons have wonderful life stories and unique experiences to share. They would truly value the company of a caring volunteer who is ready to listen. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, enjoying a board game, reading together, taking a walk around the garden, or simply sharing a cup of tea, your presence can make a profound impact on someone’s day.

Why Join Us? This role is part of Wesley Mission Queensland’s Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), a program dedicated to reducing social isolation among older Australians. By becoming a volunteer, you help build genuine friendships that enrich the lives of both the resident and yourself.

If you enjoy meeting new people and want to make a lasting difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
