Wesley Mission Queensland - Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme Volunteers

Shared moments. Lasting friendships. ❤️ The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a free, government-funded initiative designed to bring companionship to older Australians who may be feeling lonely, socially isolated, or would just like to make a new friend. By matching friendly ACVVS volunteers with seniors for regular, informal visits, we build meaningful friendships that brighten lives. Whether it’s sharing a cuppa, a hobby, or a stroll through the garden, the ACVVS is all about fostering community spirit and emotional wellbeing through one-on-one connections. As one of Queensland's leading aged care providers with a rich history of community support, Wesley Mission Queensland is proud to partner with the Australian Government and ACVVS volunteers to bring friendship to older persons living in their own homes or in residential aged care facilities. We support matches across Brisbane and its northern regions - stretching from Eatons Hill and Samford Valley up to Dayboro, Bribie Island, Woodford, and Kilcoy. To make your volunteering experience as seamless as possible, we will always match you with someone local to your area. To become an ACVVS volunteer, you will need to: * Be at least 18 years old. * Complete a free NDIS Worker Screening Check. * Have proof of one COVID-19 vaccination. * Complete a quick orientation and online course. * Build a friendship! To learn more about ACVVS, call us (ask to be put through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme), email us directly, or apply for one of our current ACVVS volunteer roles. We look forward to hearing from you!
