Make a Meaningful Difference
Are you a warm, friendly person who enjoys connecting with others? We are looking for volunteers to bring friendship and joy to older adults living in in residential aged care.

We currently have a lovely lady living in Bray Park who would enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer visitor for companionship, conversation, and shared interests.

Originally from Mauritius, she speaks French Creole and is a practising Catholic. She enjoys talking about her family and travels, listening to French music and hits from the 1960s, singing, spending time with animals (especially dogs), and admiring flowers and gardens. She also enjoys watching television and reminiscing about sewing and knitting.

Many older persons have wonderful life stories and unique experiences to share. They would truly value the company of a caring volunteer who is ready to listen. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, enjoying a board game, reading together, taking a walk around the garden, or simply sharing a cup of tea, your presence can make a profound impact on someone’s day.

Why Join Us? This role is part of Wesley Mission Queensland’s Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), a program dedicated to reducing social isolation among older Australians. By becoming a volunteer, you help build genuine friendships that enrich the lives of both the resident and yourself.

If you enjoy meeting new people and want to make a lasting difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
