Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme – Travel, Gardens & Conversation
Wesley Mission Queensland - Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme Volunteers

Make a Meaningful Difference
Are you a warm, friendly person who enjoys connecting with others? We are looking for volunteers to bring friendship and joy to older adults living in in residential aged care.
We currently have a lovely gentleman living in Bray Park who would enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer visitor for relaxed visits, conversation, and companionship.
He enjoys listening to classical music, singing along at music sessions, watching documentaries, and reading. He also enjoys talking about gardening, having previously grown fruit trees and vegetables, and sharing stories of his travels to destinations including the Seychelles, Europe, Canada, the USA, New Zealand, Thailand, Fiji, Saudi Arabia, and England. He would love to connect with someone who enjoys meaningful conversation and shared life experiences.
Many older persons have wonderful life stories and unique experiences to share. They would truly value the company of a caring volunteer who is ready to listen. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, enjoying a board game, reading together, taking a walk around the garden, or simply sharing a cup of tea, your presence can make a profound impact on someone’s day.
Why Join Us? This role is part of Wesley Mission Queensland’s Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), a program dedicated to reducing social isolation among older Australians. By becoming a volunteer, you help build genuine friendships that enrich the lives of both the resident and yourself.
If you enjoy meeting new people and want to make a lasting difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
