Canberra Institute of Technology - Animal Ethics Committee Members

CIT is seeking committed individuals to join its Animal Ethics Committee (AEC), which plays a vital role in overseeing the ethical care and use of animals used for teaching purposes at CIT. The committee ensures all practices align with the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (2013) and the Animal Welfare Act 1992. We are currently looking to fill positions across the following categories: Category A – Veterinarian: A qualified vet with expertise in animal health and welfare Category B – Scientific or Teaching Representative: A researcher or educator with recent, substantial experience in the use of animals for scientific or teaching purposes Category C – Animal Welfare Advocate: An individual with a strong commitment to animal welfare, such as a member of a recognised welfare organisation Category D – Community Member: A person with no professional involvement in animal use who represents the broader community perspective
