Make a Meaningful Difference
Are you a warm, friendly person who enjoys connecting with others? We are looking for volunteers to bring friendship and joy to older adults living in in residential aged care.

We currently have a lovely gentleman living in Sinnamon Park who would enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer visitor for relaxed visits, conversation, and companionship.

He enjoys listening to music, loves dogs, and takes great pride in his appearance. He also enjoys painting and would love to spend time with a volunteer who is happy to paint alongside him while sharing friendly conversation. Living with an intellectual disability and arthritis, he would benefit from regular one-on-one visits that provide meaningful companionship, creativity, and social connection.

Many older persons have wonderful life stories and unique experiences to share. They would truly value the company of a caring volunteer who is ready to listen. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, enjoying a board game, reading together, taking a walk around the garden, or simply sharing a cup of tea, your presence can make a profound impact on someone’s day.

Why Join Us? This role is part of Wesley Mission Queensland’s Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), a program dedicated to reducing social isolation among older Australians. By becoming a volunteer, you help build genuine friendships that enrich the lives of both the resident and yourself.

If you enjoy meeting new people and want to make a lasting difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
