Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme – Share Friendship in Russian
Wesley Mission Queensland - Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme Volunteers

Make a Meaningful Difference
Are you a warm, friendly person who enjoys connecting with others? We are looking for volunteers to bring friendship and joy to older adults living in in residential aged care.
We currently have a lovely lady living in Sinnamon Park who would enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer visitor for relaxed visits, conversation, and companionship.
Recently moved into residential aged care, she would benefit from the friendship and companionship of a Russian-speaking volunteer. She enjoys spending time with family, watching television, and gardening, and would love to connect with someone who speaks Russian and enjoys sharing conversation. Regular visits would provide meaningful social connection and help her settle into her new home while reducing social isolation.
Many older persons have wonderful life stories and unique experiences to share. They would truly value the company of a caring volunteer who is ready to listen. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, enjoying a board game, reading together, taking a walk around the garden, or simply sharing a cup of tea, your presence can make a profound impact on someone’s day.
Why Join Us? This role is part of Wesley Mission Queensland’s Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS), a program dedicated to reducing social isolation among older Australians. By becoming a volunteer, you help build genuine friendships that enrich the lives of both the resident and yourself.
If you enjoy meeting new people and want to make a lasting difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
