Choir Buddy - Upbeat Arts Choir programs

Upbeat Arts Ltd supported by Volunteering Queensland

Is it possible to sing and help people at the same time? Yes - with an Upbeat Arts choir program it is!

If you love to sing and can hold a tune - this is a unique opportunity to give back to your community. You'll be doing something you love, whilst helping others to learn and socialise. Vocal experience or singing in a choir is a definite advantage.

You’d become part of the choir and be on hand to offer support, by working with the members in a group setting. You might help members to find their note or simply chat with them during the breaks.

This is a support role, as the conductor is fully responsible for the content and direction of each rehearsal.

Our programs are primarily for adults with a mental health diagnosis, so if you happen to have experience working in the Mental Health sector - that would be a distinct advantage to us and you might be eligible to apply to be a ‘Health Buddy’ (advertised separately).

The objectives of this buddy role:

  • To support and assist members
  • To help members musically
  • To support and assist staff with routine work performed on a weekly basis and

participate in special projects, depending on skills, interest and availability

If this all sounds like you…....Then we'd love to hear from you!

And in return - by volunteering with Upbeat Arts you'll receive ....

  • A sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in assisting your community in a fun musical environment, working with a wonderful team
  • Plenty of thanks from our members and from Upbeat Arts!

A weekly commitment to become a permanent member of the choir is required. Please check listing for details.

NOTE: All applicants will be required to complete an online application form which will be forwarded to them when their expression of interest is lodged with us.
