Tutors/Mentors for young people in Senior School from refugee and migrant backgrounds
Advertised by Volunteering WAVolunteers are needed to offer care and support to young people of refugee/migrant background at a Senior School. Young people of refugee/migrant background often feel isolated and anxious and subsequently withdraw from classroom participation. A caring and supportive volunteer, who is willing to build a trusting relationship, can make the world of difference by assisting an individual, or small group, to tackle classroom tasks and therefore build confidence and self-esteem. Volunteers are expected to attend for three hours per week, for the school year. Applications are now open.
