About Women's Power of Inspiration:

Women’s Power of Inspiration (WPI) is a non-for-profit organisation that supports the emotional, social, functional, and financial wellbeing of women from culturally diverse backgrounds, including refugees and immigrants. Many women arriving to Australia continue to face significant barriers such as:

• Language and communication barriers.
• Education access.
• Employment access (often higher education qualifications are not recognised in Australia).
• Financial insecurity.
• Separation from their families.
• Social isolation and loneliness.
• Domestic violence.
• Compromised mental health and trauma.

WPI believes that supporting women benefits the whole of society, creating positive impacts that grow and strengthen over time. To achieve this WPI offers:

• Sewing, crochet, and knitting lessons.
• Support with activities of daily living. Including: completing applications (education, employment, or other), resume writing, and navigating services.
• Practicing English conversations.
• Fostering of positive personal and community connections.
• Support for women’s access to services. And
• Support for other challenges they may be facing with their settlement.

Key tasks:

• General office support (emails, filing, data entry).
• Meeting minutes and document preparation.
• Organising records and participant information.
• Support the Founder and volunteers to make a positive impact on women’s lives.

Skills required

• Effective communication skills
• Basic understanding and proficiency with Microsoft 365
• Organisation and time management.
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Adaptability
