Cat Haven is seeking enthusiastic and reliable sorter/s to assist with sorting and preparing donated goods at our Willetton Op Shop. Every item sorted helps raise vital funds to support the thousands of cats that come through our care each year.
If you enjoy fashion, love finding hidden treasures, have an eye for quality, or simply want to contribute to a worthwhile cause, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Volunteer Merchandise Sorter, you will work alongside a friendly team of staff and volunteers to sort, grade and organise donated items before they reach our shop floor.
Donations may include:
- Clothing and accessories
- Household goods
- Books and media
- Home décor and bric-a-brac
- Toys and miscellaneous items
Your efforts will help ensure quality items are presented for sale, generating much-needed funds for Cat Haven's feline welfare programs.
About Cat Haven
Established in 1961, Cat Haven is Western Australia's largest cat welfare organisation. Every year, we care for thousands of lost, abandoned and surrendered cats while working towards our vision that every WA cat is well cared for.
Our Op Shops play an important role in supporting the work we do by raising funds that directly contribute to the care, treatment and rehoming of cats in need.
What We're Looking For
We welcome volunteers who are:
- Reliable and able to commit to a regular shift
- Previous Op Shop, retail or merchandising experience highly regarded
- Organised and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of standing, bending and lifting reasonable loads throughout a shift
- Interested in clothing, fashion, brands, collectables or quality second-hand goods
- Passionate about supporting animal welfare

Availability
Volunteer shifts are available Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm at our Willetton Op Shop. We are happy to discuss availability and find a regular shift that suits you.
