Southern Employment & Training Network (SETN) Inc. is seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to help shape employment, skills and workforce development across southern Tasmania.

SETN is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation working across Kingborough and the Huon Valley, including the Channel and Bruny Island. We connect jobseekers, employers, industry, education and training providers, government and community organisations to strengthen workforce participation, employment opportunities and regional prosperity.

We are currently strengthening and renewing our Board and are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in:

  • business, industry or commercial leadership;
  • accounting, financial management or audit;
  • governance, compliance or risk management; and
  • strategic leadership and organisational development.

We also value strong connections across local business, industry, education, government and community networks.

You don’t need to tick every box. We are looking for people who can bring relevant experience, sound judgement, fresh thinking and a genuine interest in strengthening employment and workforce opportunities across our region.

SETN Directors contribute to strategic direction, financial and governance oversight, organisational sustainability and stakeholder relationships. Board meetings are held approximately every two months, with Directors also participating in strategic planning and stakeholder activities where appropriate.

Expressions of Interest close Sunday, 13 September 2026.

Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged contact SETN Public Officer, Erin van Nieuwkuyk before submitting an EOI.
