šGive the gift of Friendship ā ACVVS I St Vincentās Healthš

⢠Music, movies, sunshine and unhurried company
⢠A male volunteer is preferred for this match
⢠An hour of your time can be worth more than you know
šWhat is ACVVS? š©µ
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) connects volunteers with older people who may be socially isolated, creating regular friendship, companionship and meaningful connection.
St Vincentās is looking for volunteers who share our commitment to compassion, excellence, justice and integrity, and who want to bring those values to life through genuine connection with older people.
We are seeking expressions of interest from male volunteers who have 30 minutes to an hour each week to spend with a resident living in aged care in Jannali. Originally from Sri Lanka, Edward enjoys classical, country and jazz music, comedy and action movies and sitting in the sunshine.
šµEasy ways to spend time togetherš
⢠Listen to classical, country or jazz music
⢠Talk about movies, comedy or favourite actors
⢠Sit outside and enjoy the sunshine
⢠Let conversation happen naturally without rushing it
Who could be a good match?
A patient, dependable male volunteer who is comfortable giving someone time to build trust. You do not need to be highly outgoing - being consistent is more important.
The practical bits
⢠You must be 18 years or over.
⢠A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is required and is organised and funded by St Vincent's
⢠Visits are approximately one hour, at least once a fortnight
⢠We are looking for someone who can visit consistently and build an ongoing, respectful connection
š©µIf you are looking to share connection and give back to your local community, we would love to hear from you! š
At St Vincent's, we value inclusion and diversity. We are committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, safe, fair and inclusive, and we invite people from all backgrounds to join our caring community.
