ROLE PURPOSE

The Volunteer Philanthropy and Grant Support role strengthens Bolting Ahead’s long-term sustainability by identifying

funding opportunities, preparing high-quality grant submissions, and supporting philanthropic engagement. This role

helps secure the resources that allow our programs – and the young people we serve – to thrive.

This position joins a team that works with purpose, pace and heart. It aligns with best practice charity governance and

fundraising standards, ensuring ethical, transparent, and impactful funding practices. Functions may be shared across multiple volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES may include:

• Grant Research

Identify suitable grants, philanthropic funds, and corporate giving opportunities aligned to Bolting

Ahead’s mission.

• Grant Writing

Draft compelling, evidence-based submissions using existing program materials, data, and impact

stories.

• Funding Calendar Management

Maintain a schedule of upcoming grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

• Impact Storytelling

Translate program outcomes into clear, persuasive narratives that reflect our values and youth-centred

approach.

• Data and Evidence Support

Gather program data, testimonials, and case studies to strengthen submissions.

• Philanthropic Engagement

Assist with donor updates, thank-you letters, and relationship-building activities.

• Compliance and Governance

Ensure submissions align with ACNC expectations and ethical fundraising standards.

• Collaboration

Work closely with leadership, program staff, and volunteers to gather information and refine proposals.
